Counselor in Training Program (CITs)
The CIT program is open to 13 to 15 year olds who are interested in learning what being a camp counselor or leader of youth activities is all about.  CITs are provided leadership training to assist them in developing the skills and knowledge needed to teach, guide and provide a role model for younger youth.

Space is limited to 8 CITs per one week session.

CIT Hours: 9:00 to 3:00   $250.00 per one week session

CITs receive T-shirts, water bottles and a riding lesson each week!

**CITs may purchase additional riding lessons at the discounted rate of $40 per 1/2 hour private or one hour group.**

The camp is open to all levels of riders from complete beginners to polished show riders ages 6 to 15 yearsNO prior riding experience is required!  Camp is an ideal place to start your child riding.

Campers are taught English style riding with an emphasis on the Hunt Seat and Jumper discipline. Campers ride each day in groups formed by their level of riding experience to provide for proper instruction.  Campers with prior riding experience receive more advanced instruction to ensure they are challenged in all aspects of their riding education!

Campers also participate in non-riding activities geared toward the age, experience and skill of each camper.  These activities are designed to teach horsemanship skills in a hands-on format providing fun and education!

These activities include (but are certainly not
limited to):
  • Horse Behavior
  • Horse Handling
  • Stable Management
  • Grooming
  • Horse First Aid
  • Horse Shoeing
  • Parts of the Saddle
  • Parts of the Bridle
  • Parts of the Horse
  • Horse Colors and Markings
Just to name a few...

Camp Information
Advanced Camp
Due to an overwhelming interest in camp activities devoted to more advanced riders, we have added the Advanced Camp for riders of all ages who are capable of walk, trot, canter, jumping and tacking independently.

An advanced curriculum of horse care and riding skills as well as an in-depth education in various horse disciplines and careers will be the focus of the camp.

Campers who are interested in horse showing will hone their skills in show preparation and competing.  Campers will also be welcome to join the current North Gate show riders on the show circuit outside of camp.
