Here at Happy Hooves Equestrian Day Camp we are serious about providing each child with an experience filled with fun, friends and wonderful horses and ponies!
No matter what your child's experience level may be, our staff will provide a fun and safe program that will develop riding and horsemanship skills and most importantly they will have a good time and meet new friends while doing it!
Our past summers have been filled with great families and a lot of fun and excitement!  We look forward to seeing many familiar faces this season as well as welcoming new friends and families!

Camp Hours
Extended AM hours:  7:30 am - 9:00 am      $75.00

Regular Camp Hours: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm    $550.00

Extended PM Hours: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm   $100.00

Equestrian Day Camp
The camp is open to all levels of riders from complete beginners to polished show riders ages 6 to 15 years.  NO prior riding experience is required!  Camp is an ideal place to start your child riding.

Campers are taught English style riding with an emphasis on the Hunt Seat and Jumper discipline.  Campers ride each day in groups formed by their level of riding experience to provide for proper instruction.  Campers with prior riding experience receive more advanced instruction to ensure they are challenged in all aspects of their riding education!

Campers also participate in non-riding activities geared toward the age, experience and skill of each camper.  These activities are designed to teach horsemanship skills in a hands-on format providing fun and education!  These activities include (but are certainly not limited to):
  • Horse Behavior
  • Horse Handling
  • Stable Management
  • Grooming
  • Horse First Aid
  • Horse Shoeing
  • Parts of the Saddle
  • Parts of the Bridle
  • Parts of the Horse
  • Horse Colors and Markings
  • Just to name a few...
What should campers bring to camp?
  • Long pants or jodphers
  • Paddock boots or a similar shoe with a low heel
  • Shorts and sneakers to change into in warm weather. (campers cannot ride in sneakers and shorts)  No open toed shoes or sandals, please!
  • Lunch, a snack and several drinks! (all lunches will be refrigerated.)
  • Sunscreen (campers will be out in the sun!)
  • A helmet, if you have one, or we will provide one

Counselor in Training Program (CITs)
The CIT program is open to 13 to 15 year olds who are interested in learning what being a camp counselor or leader of youth activities is all about.  CITs are provided leadership training to assist them in developing the skills and knowlege needed to teach, guide and provide a role model for younger youth.

Space is limited to 10 CITs per two week session.

CIT Hours
8:00 to 4:00   $200.00 per one week session

CITs receive CIT T-shirts, water bottles and a riding lesson each week!

**CITs and GITs may purchase additional riding lessons at the discounted rate of $40 per 1/2 hour private or one hour group.**
Grooms in Training Program (GITs)
The GIT program is open to 13 to 15 year olds with prior horse related or riding experience who are interested in further expanding their skills with horses.  Through hands-on activities, GITs learn what it takes to care for a horse from feeding to cleaning a stall to saddling and bridling.  Safe handling practices are emphasized throughout the program.

Space is limited to 8 GITs per one week session.

GIT Hours
8:00 - 4:00    $200.00 per week session

GITs receive GIT T-shirts, water bottles and a riding lesson each week!
CITs and GITs are welcome to attend the AM and PM extended day program at no charge.  They are expected to act as role models during this program and to act in an appropriate manner.
Our camp is in compliance with the Sudbury Board of Health requirements for operating a Recreational Camp for Children.  All staff are CORI/SORI checked and CPR and First Aid certified.
