Competitions:
Each rider is limited to competeing in 5 shows for the season (this is an IEA rule - not the teams rule).  Teh typical show starts at 6:30 or 7:00 am with the warm up of the horses.  This gives the riders the opportunity to watch the horses perform over the jumps.  You learn a lot from watching.  Classes usually start at 8:00 or 8:30 am and run until about 5:00 pm.  The upper school rides first and then the middle school.  The first classes are jumping.  The jumps are then taken down and all the flat classes are held.

Some shows are overnight shows.  The coach will book the hotel rooms together and everyone goes out to dinner together the night before the show.  It's a lot of FUN!

Practices:
All team members are expected to participate in one practice a week.  There will be three practices each week.  Attendance will be recorded and it will be one of the criteria used to determine those who will represent the team if we qualify for year end finals.

Please always have your hair tied back or in a hair net with your shirt tucked in and a belt if your pants have belt loops.  No tank tops or spaghetti strings and no big jewlery, please.

Everyone is expected to be familiar with the IEA rules which are on the IEA website.  Riders are tested on the rules on a regular basis.
